PILOT POINT, Texas, November 19, 2002 — Consistent with its strategic growth plans, AMS today announced the appointment of Jerry Quinn to the position of Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Advanced Microbial Solutions, LLC (AMS) announced the appointment of Gerald J. (Jerry) Quinn to lead AMS' worldwide Sales and Marketing, effective November 1, 2002.

Mr. Quinn brings thirty years of experience in the agricultural, agrochemical and chemical industries. Jerry has held senior leadership positions on the national and international levels for Zeneca and Rhone-Poulenc and, most recently, the Chemicals Industry Practice of Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Additionally, he was the founding President and Director of RAPID, Inc., a consortium of over 60 manufacturers and distributors, which is leading the agricultural industry initiative toward electronic commerce, communication standards and regulatory database availability.

In a related announcement, AMS also announced the following appointments, effective October 1, 2002:

Mark W. Armstrong, Midlothian, VA
Mark joins AMS with over 20 years experience in the crop production and agricultural products arena. Mark will lead AMS' sales and marketing efforts in the mid-Atlantic and Carolinas markets.

James R. (Jim) Calhoun, Cordova, TN
Jim will lead AMS efforts in the mid-South region (Tennessee, Missouri, Mississippi and Northern Louisiana), leveraging his extensive experience and knowledge of the turf, ornamental and agricultural products industry.

James M. (Mike) Jones, Autugaville, AL
Mike comes to AMS with over 30 years of experience in agricultural products sales, and will be leading AMS efforts in the Southeast market, composed of Georgia, Alabama and the Florida panhandle.
